Thank you for your interest in The Viola Project. Since 2004, TVP has been offering workshops for girls between the ages of 8 and 18 on the performance of Shakespeare. With topics ranging from The Play's The Thing (Hamlet) to A Merry War (Much Ado About Nothing) and the Sonnet Slam to Heroines!, TVP students learn that Shakespeare is fun by getting out of their chairs, onto their feet and discovering for themselves the joy of complex characters and language. Theatre is a way for young people to unleash their creativity and develop their talents. Our teachers are committed to helping students realize their own power. Come join the fun!

Upcoming Events

In addition to our full workshop schedule at City Lit Theatre, The Viola Project has several exciting upcoming events! We will be doing our third after-school program (this time: The Tempest!) at Sacred Heart School in Edgewater, leading a one-day Magic and Malice workshop in Champaign, IL, returning to 826CHI for another two-day workshop (Princess Power: Cymbeline!). Come visit our table at the Illinois Network of Charter Schools annual picnic on September 6 from 11am-3pm! And of course, help us celebrate a fantastic semester by attending the Illyrian Ball in November!
